With epic character posters, the Flash distracts fans from the Snyderverse's death once more ...

Batman, please have a great weekend! Following the release of the latest trailer for The Flash during yesterday's Super Bowl, accompanying character posters have been on the internet, and people everywhere are raving. The only problem? DC's upcoming opus marks the conclusion of the Snyderverse.

When it comes to Zack Snyder's decade-long take on the superhero genre, James Gunn's recent announcement regarding the DCU's future, it's out with the old and in with the new.

The Flash is shaping up to be a cinematic crossover unlike any other. Watch the mind-melting teaser here — you'll remember us later.

Let's take a minute for this lineup to sink in. First, there's (of course) the Flash himself. Then there's Supergirl, who looks about as cool as they come. Oh, and there's TWO Batmen.

The Flash, played by Michael Keaton, has finally returned front and center, bringing Ben Affleck's take on the Dark Knight to the fore. It's hard to deny how deep this rabbit hole goes.

It's true that in releasing a poster set like this, the DC folks are making an extremely intelligent decision to overturn established mythologies, but it had to be done.

James Gunn and his crew must create something entirely different in order to keep moving forward from the previous DCU's characters, plots, successes, and failures. Fans need a distraction, and for the time being, they've got it.
