The Jackdaws Rest Quest for Hogwarts Legacy

The Jackdaws Rest Quest for Hogwarts Legacy ...

To improve your character and unlock additional features in Hogwarts Legacy, you'll need to complete the main story quests. This section will enable you to unlock additional abilities. Your character will also be able to unlock additional spells when you complete the Rest.

How to Finish Jackdaw's Rest in Hogwarts Legacy

To get the Jackdaw's Rest quest, you'll need to complete the Prisoner of Love quest. This involves you escorting to a secret vault in the Forbidden Forest that you hope may contain the missing map pages. Unlocking the vault is a task in itself, and requires you to remove some drawers in the correct order.

If you've done it correctly, there appears to be no particular order in which you have to remove the drawers out. On both sides, you'll need to repeat the same pattern to unlock the vault. On each side, you'll need to remove one drawer from the top, middle, and bottom of the vault.

On the left:

  • Top Left
  • Middle Right
  • Bottom Right

Once you unlock the vault, you'll discover a letter to Anne that she never received. Ask Jackdaw to meet up later in the Forbidden Forest to take you to his remains.

Check your map to see what your path will take you to the destination. You may use the Floo Flame to enter the Forbidden Forest. Jackdaw will wait for you and begin leading you toward the entrance. He'll then ask you to enter the fountain alone.

If you don't like spiders, like me, this is a particularly difficult quest, but you'll get through it easily thanks to some spells. Usually, this will lead you to loot chests.

Once you get to the fountain, you can press X or Square to reveal the password. This will open the entrance, but also trigger an ambush of goblins to attack you. You'll have to defeat the loyalists to continue inside.

The first rune puzzle will be displayed shortly after entering. These runes can be triggered with a basic spell, and unlock a portion of the entrance. It's helpful to aim in by pressing LT on your controller and starting with the one farthest away.

You'll find a few branching paths ahead of you. One to the left will take you to a mini spider den where you'll have to kill some spiders but also collect a chest. It's important to utilize Revelio as much as you can to uncover nearby chests.

As you complete the quest, you'll arrive to the first set of floating platforms. This one is not required to cross for the quest, but leads to another chest. From the left side of the gap near the lit lantern, point your Accio to the far platform on the opposite side and launch your Accio to grab the loot. Continue on.

This is the second rune puzzle, which is very similar to the first, but with the same methods in mind. Each rune button will be required to unlock the gate, while the third button is hidden further out and is somewhat hidden. You may try using Revelio to locate it more easily, then use your basic cast with RT to hit all of them again.

Continue through the gate and look out for some more chests nearby. You will essentially go through a little loop until you reach the next set of floating platforms.

This set of floating platforms is more difficult to cross. There is a little detour you can make to get another chest. Accio can be cast on the other side of the gap to continue forward.

From here, you will reach the Rest's larger open space, where you will have to confront some spiders, some of which are more powerful than the others. You'll notice a little radius pop up on the ground where they will jump out of. Once you've eliminated all of the spiders, you can focus on the last rune puzzle.

Because all of the buttons are more spread out, this puzzle is the most difficult of all. You'll still need to hit all of them with the basic spell as quickly as possible. The key is to position your character correctly so you can see all of the buttons at the same time. Use Revelio or the image above to assist you in locating each of them.

Once you have the timing right, you can enter the gate and cross the long bridge leading to Jackdaw's Tomb.

Before going to the right and left sides of the tomb on either side of the remains, you'll want to collect the chests and loot available. This is the best time to collect them because once you find the missing map pages on Jackdaw's remains, you'll wake the guards.

The first six are the same as the ones you saw before in Gringotts. The remaining three are more powerful versions that will only awaken once you destroy the rest. The key is to avoid most of their attacks, especially when you are asked with the red light, and use Expelliarmus to disarm them as much as possible.

Once the guards are defeated, you may enter the Map Chamber via the archway that appears to be painted by Rackham, who will encourage you to bring the whole map book back with you before continuing further along. Overall, this is an important quest for the main storylines, which you can earn some decent rewards.
