While progressing in the main storyline in Hogwarts Legacy, you'll meet various characters and complete various trials. How to Finish Percival Rackham's Trial in Hogwarts Legacy
You will discover a portal system in Percival Rackham's Trial, which will allow you to enter and exit different rooms. These portals will be critical in solving the puzzles and are heavily featured in Charles Rookwood's Trial as well. Complete investigating the goblin presence at San Bakar's Tower, read the note from Ranrok, and enter the Tower with Professor Fig.
In Hogwarts Legacy, where are the treasure chests located in San Bakar's Tower?
Percival Rackham's portrait is required to be found before entering San Bakar's Tower. The first chest is located just below the statue, which you can see once you enter the main entrance. There is also a bag of gold located on the second floor.
Percival Rackham's portrait will be displayed in a locked room opposite the statue on the second floor. This room can be unlocked once you've learned and upgraded the Alohomora spell. After this, you'll need to enter the First Trial, which is located in front of the statue on the ground floor.
In Hogwarts Legacy, how do I solve the first portal in Percival Rackham's trial?
After entering the First Trial, you'll come across a series of portals. The first portal you'll come across is relatively straightforward, and you may activate it by climbing the platform from the left-hand side in the first image above. Once you've activated it, you'll see a chest just beside the interaction area in the second image.
Collect the chest and return it to the portal. Walk through the portal and take a sharp left turn.
The other chest will be located directly opposite the one you'll find here. Click on the arrow in the photo above to see the location of the other chest. Return to the original path and proceed to the next room.
The use of the second portal in Percival Rackham's trial in Hogwarts Legacy
Once you enter the second room, walk directly toward the back, and collect the chest marked with the arrow in the above image. Place your Revelio card behind it to check out the ancient magic.
After interacting with the portal, go inside, and you'll see a Pensieve Protector and a few Sentries. Defeat them all, then proceed to the first platform puzzle in Percival Rackham's Trial.
How to Solve the First Platform Puzzle in Percival Rackham's Hogwarts Legacy
Percival Rackham's Trial has a lot of platform puzzles that require you to use Accio to bring them close. These steps will be helpful throughout this quest. When you reach this room, simply pull the first platform close to you, and then use Accio again to bring the platform to the center.
Look at the right-hand side of the room and place Accio on the hook on the right wall. This will pull the platform to the right side. Interact with it and this will open another portal right in front of you.
Return to the platform and place Accio on the hook in the center pillar. Jump on the top of the center pillar and collect the items shown in the image above. For the chest on the left-hand side of the wall, simply move the platform to hooks on that side.
Get on your platform and aim for the hook on the right side of the room, where you'll need to complete the second platform puzzle in Percival Rackham's Trial.
Percival Rackham's Hogwarts Legacy: How to Solve the Second Platform Puzzle
After entering the second platform puzzle room, climb up the stairs from the right-hand side of the room and stand parallel to the platform. Use Accio to pull the platform closer and walk on top of it. You'll notice the 'Investigate' option popping up, and this will activate the portal in the room.
Once the portal is triggered, walk inside the room and you'll see a bridge that will help you complete the last part of this platform puzzle. Now exit the portal and climb the stairs located on the left-hand side of the room.
Remove the platform from the left-hand side wall by using Accio. Jump on the portal, and look to the left-hand side wall again to notice the hook on the second ledge. Check the images below to see the exact location of this hook.
Use the Accio spell to climb the second ledge. There is a chest on this ledge that you can easily collect.
Drop down from the platform and enter the portal once more to construct the room's bridge. Walk up the stairs and stand in the middle of the bridge. With Accio, you can grab the hook on the platform again and use the spell once more to reach across the room.
While leaving this room, you'll notice another set of steps with a chest nearby. Use Revelio to see the chest's location on the right-hand side of the statue as shown in the above image.
Percival Rackham's Hogwarts Legacy: How to Solve the Third Platform Puzzle
The third platform puzzle is the most difficult of the three. When you enter the room, interact with the ancient magic bloom to activate the portal. You'll notice a platform right in front of you, use Accio to bring it closer and jump on it. Now, place Accio on the hook in front of the platform to bring it closer to the portal door as shown in the second image above.
A hook will be visible on the left-hand side of the room when you take the platform on the right-hand side of the room, as shown by the arrow on the image above. Return to the chest where you left-hand side.
After collecting the chest, leave the portal and use Accio on the platform to bring it closer. Look to the left-hand side of the room and you'll notice another hook. Latch on to it by using Accio, but let the spell end before you cross the portal. The other platform must be parallel to the portal door.
Use Accio on the platform beyond the portal to bring both platforms closer to each other. Jump from the first platform to the one inside the portal.
Look to the left-hand side of the room to find another hook. Now, for the final part, look to the far end of the room to see the other hook. Use Accio to get to the next room.
You'll find a chest in another room, and we recommend using Revelio to locate it. This chest is located directly beside the exit door to this room. Collect it before going into the final boss fight area.
In Percival Rackham's Hogwarts Legacy, how do you defeat the Pensieve Guardian?
The Pensieve Guardian is the boss in Percival Rackham's First Trial, and these enemies are notoriously difficult to defeat. The Pensieve Guardian is made entirely out of ancient magic, and can only be defeated by a comparable form of magic. The best strategy to defeat the Pensieve Guardian is to keep attacking it until your ancient magic energy bar increases.
The Pensieve Guardian has two distinctive moves, one where it stomps its foot to create an area wave, while the other attack where the boss chages foward and smashes its flail on the ground. You can defend yourself against both attacks by dodge rolling at the exact moment.
The Pensieve Guardian also has a powerful ancient magic orb that can be beaten to gain an advantage in the battle. For instance, if the orb is blue, use magic like Expelliarmus, Confringo, Diffindo, or Incendio to blow it up.
Percival Rackham's Trial in Hogwarts Legacy: How to Get All Chests
The second portal room has a hidden chest, but you must go through certain detours to access them. After defeating the Pensieve warriors in the second room, enter the entrance.
With a Basic Cast, stroke the panel marked with the arrow on the image above. This will give you a way to reach across the room and retrieve the chest at the end.
The other hidden chest is located near the end of the quest in the room with Percival Rackham's memories. When you enter this room, use Revelio to identify the chest shown in the above image. It will be located on the right-hand side of the room.
As you complete the First Trial, unlock the chest and interact with the Pensieve to begin the memory. These are all the chests you may collect during Percival Rackham's Trial in Hogwarts Legacy.
