Fabien Frankel Recalls His First Day Jitsters on House of the Dragon: I Have Completely F*cked It ...

The first day at any new job can be nerve-racking, particularly if your job is starring in an HBO program. And if that program happens to be a highly anticipated spinoff of one of the most popular cable series of all time, anyone might be forgiven for being a bit unsure.

When Fabien Frankel, who plays Ser Criston Cole on House of the Dragon, stepped foot on set for the first time, he revealed that he was panicked during the recording of his first scene and completely froze on camera.

The camera finally got around to me, and I swear to God I literally forgot how to act. I couldnt do it! I didnt know what to do, Frankel said. I remember thinking, This is it, I've totally fucked it.'

Soon after, he saw now-former showrunner Miguel Sapochnik march through 250 background artists to talk to him.

Frankel recalls Sapochnik saying, "Fabien, what's going on with your face?" The actor is still reeling from the embarrassing moment. It was just the worst fucking experience of my life.

Frankel isnt the only cast member to confess to their nervousness on set. Emily Carey recently revealed that she was hesitant to record a sex scene with her onscreen husband Paddy Considine, though the crew's skill ultimately made the film a breeze.

I was a bit worried at that point, because I didnt know how great Paddy was going to execute [the scene], and everything I saw was, you know, a 47-year-old guy and me, and I was a bit concerned, said Carey. Everything that felt intimate was considered an intimacy scene, and I thought that was fantastic.

House of the Dragon premieres on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
