Jankos, a G2 Esports jungler, created a tier list on his personal livestream ranking each team that will compete in this years League of Legends World Championship. G2 will be competing during the event, and Jankos' rating of his own team is more realistic than overconfident.
G2 Esports was rated as a C-Tier team in Jankos' tier list, falling behind Gen.G, Edward Gaming, and Rogue, the latter of whom won G2 in the LEC Summer Finals last week.
Jankos rated G2 as the worst team in Group B, falling behind the LCK third-seed DWG KIA and LPL champions JD Gaming. All four Chinese teams at Worlds are above G2, while also putting G2 above all North American teams.
As a result of the 3-0d, Jankos said of his teams' placement. But, the argument for that is that I think we are more flexible than Rogue. I believe that because we are more flexible, we may adapt better to the Worlds meta.
Jankos believes Gen.G to be the best team at the event, while Beyond Gaming out of the PCS would technically be the worst.
All three North American teams that participated in the World Cup were ranked above Europes third and fourth seed, Fnatic and MAD Lions. Although Jankos initially considered putting MAD Lions in the F-tier lists, he supported his reasoning for the LEC squads' better placement, with an expectation that they must be better than Oceania and Brazil.
G2 will not have to compete with MAD Lions or minor region teams during the Worlds play-in stage due to their participation directly in the Worlds group stage on September 29.
