Skyrim's Best Followers

Skyrim's Best Followers ...

Skyrim has an insane amount of followers, especially if you decide to make a mod. Today, we want to look at some of Skyrim's top followers, and who you should choose to have around you.

Before I did the research for this article, I never realized how many Skyrim followers there are... but holy crap, guys. I didn't even know half of these people... or creatures.

Regardless, you have to ask yourself who the greatest followers are when it comes to Instagram. So that's what we'll look at today.

Since I know that many of you don't know how to play vanilla Skyrim, I'll include mods for each companion that alter them (but in a realistic way. This ain't gonna be a big booby mod list... but that's an idea for another day).

The Best Followers in Skyrim

Uthgerd is a savage being that you encounter his first followers. You have to fight her hands-on (which isn't exactly difficult) and if you defeat her, she becomes a follower. If you like Uthgerd and the vibes that she gives off, but don't like her original appearance (which is quite common in Skyrim), then you should try this mod.

The normal "older-looking" Uthgerd can be opted for, or a little younger one, which I think is pretty cool.

Serana will only be encountered if you own Dawnguard. She is a vampire and a pure-blood vampire at that. For this reason alone, I'd recommend you travel with her at least once.

Serana is one of the most popular followers, so there are a lot of mods out there for her (even though I think her base model is quite okay). A lot of these mods are very hardcore though and change a lot about Serana. So I think this mod will work for you if you like the original Serana.

Mjoll the Lioness appears to be super intimidating, yet she wants to do the right thing. If you intend on becoming a member of the Thieves Guild, though, you should not take her with you on your playthrough because she hates it with all her heart.

I'd pick this one for Mjoll's mods as it just gives her a little face lift without changing much.

If you choose to pursue the quest "Waking Nightmare," Erandur will become a follower (it's not that you don't know what's going on, although I'm not going to give it away all).

I will not distribute any Erandur mods. Why? Because he does not have any boobies, so people don't care to make mods about him. Iconic.

Aela the Huntress is a werewolf, and that alone should make you want her as a follower. She is also an expert Archer, so you'd want her to be by your side either way.

Aela is a popular follower, and there are a lot of mods for her out there. Personally, I like this one, but you can also check out Nexus Mods for all of her other mods.

Cicero is a strange guy, but he is also one of Skyrim's most interesting followers. He transports his "mother," and I remember back then when I first met him thinking "what's going on?"

This mod is a decent Cicero mod as it doesn't change much about the character. There are a lot of "prettier" Cicero mods though, so go for it.

Lydia, the most iconic Skyrim follower, is also a must-see. There's not much to say about her other than that we all admire her.

Lydia received an unbelievable amount of mods. This one is particularly enjoyable since it does not make her a Japanese doll.

And there you have it, Skyrim's greatest followers. Of course, I mentioned mods. If you're interested in modding Skyrim, here's why you should definitely check out the Skyrim follower section. Some of them have fully written backstories and are even voiced, so make sure you check out that part.
