Remember how God of War 2 from the back then took place in the underworld? That might give us clues for God of War Ragnarok.
The latest God of War Ragnarok teaser, shown at the Sony State of Play, was incredible. It gave the impression that God of War 2's events will play a major role in the future God of War game. More specifically, Kratos' escape from the Underworld back then might foreshadow some of Ragnarok's events.

God of War 2 Influences God of War Ragnarok
Why are we so confident in God of War Ragnarok's past? Well, at the end of the 2018 God of War, there is a mural depicting Kratos' death, as well as all of the events that occurred throughout the game, which prompts Kratos to respond "Death can have me when it earns me." And, more crucially, "Fate only binds you, if you allow it."
In God of War 2, Kratos is literally killed at the start of the game. He then fights his way back from the Underworld, takes care of the Sisters of Fate, and rolls back time to undo his own death. So... Kratos has literally defied death before, and is, quite literally, not bound by fate - just like he told Atreus.
So, yes, Kratos may go to Ragnarok, and we might get to see a different Underworld this time around: We might pay a visit to the Hell of Norse Mythology. Now, would that be something you'd like to see? Yes.
