Fortnite leakers have claimed that another Marvel crossover may be on the way, as evidence of a Sam Wilson Captain America skin has been discovered in the game files.
Fortnite has managed to keep its appeal despite being only six years old. This is partly due to the game's ability to reinvent itself with each new update, continually adding new features, as well as its high-profile crossovers.
Only Season 1 of Chapter 4 has brought The Witcher, My Hero Academia, and Dead Space skins to the game, as well as a second round of Dragon Ball characters.
One of the most well-known developers to collaborate with Fortnite is Marvel, and reports say that another significant comic book character may be coming to the island very shortly.
The skin of Fortnite Sam Wilson, Captain America, has been leaked.
According to Fortnite dataminers like Shiina and Hypex, a Sam Wilson Captain America skin is in the works.
HYPEX claimed that a banner in the Item Shop had been reserved for a new Captain America bundle ahead of the 23.40 update. The Steve Rogers version of the character will be released in Fortnite on Independence Day 2022.
This prompted leakers to speculate that this new set might be the Sam Wilson version of Cap. Shiina also discovered a gameplay tag that mentioned "SoundLibrary_Glider_Elevate_Wings," which might be a reference to the iconic wings the character uses to fly.
After the events of Civil War, Wilson, who begins his superhero life as Falcon, takes the mantle from Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Falcon is also a representation of Anthony Mackie, who is removed from the role during Avengers Endgame.
It remains to be seen if this Fortnite skin will emulate Antony Mackie's outfit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or if it will go more in line with the comic book designs.
The leakers did not disclose further information on when the Sam Wilson Captain America skin might arrive in Fortnite, but since it's already in the game files, Chapter 4 Season 2 seems to be the prudent bet.
