After an intense, action-packed season that saw some characters return from the past, and our favorites continue to have fantastic stories, Cobra Kai Season 5 comes to a close. However, as the show closes in with so many questions, one must be curious what the show will bring next.
While Season 6 of the series hasn't been confirmed yet, Im sure we'll get an update on where Cobra Kai will go from here, but in the meantime, there are some questions that Season 5 left me wondering. Here are nine questions that I cannot help but think about.
Where The Heck Is Kreese Going To Go?
Kreese literally broke out of jail at the end of Season 5, according to reports from Terry Silver. Although he was falsely imprisoned back at the end of Season 4, it's still shocking to see him somehow break out using a key card from his therapist and a doctors disguise.
Kreese was never very popular in the Karate Kid film series, and while he had some personal connections to some of his students, like Johnny and Tory (played by Peyton List), no one is likely to offer him any respite. It's not like he could return to Cobra Kai.
Who Is Going To Take Over Cobra Kai?
Terry Silver, one of the most dangerous villains from the series, gets exposed for all of his crimes and is led away by the police in the Season 5 finale of Cobra Kai. For a moment, everything seems right in the world.
The real question is who will take over Cobra Kai right now?
Johnny might end his career by returning to the plate again, although this has been his primary focus these previous two seasons on removing himself from the Cobra Kai brand and establishing his own studio. Another possibility is Kim Da-Eun, who was barely visible during the final fight.
Who Will Take Part In The Sekai Taikai Tournament?
Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Fang (their unofficial name by Stingray) were in a race against one another to compete in the Sekai Taikai Tournament, a world championship of martial art.
Both teams are given a shot in Episode 8, but with Terry in jail now and the fate of Cobra Kai unanswered, one cant help but wonder what these teams will do next, and if they will even be able to participate in this championship.
Is Silver on the verge of getting out of his legal difficulties?
Im attempting to point out that Silver was not in the clear just yet, as he was arrested at the end of the Season 5 finale of Cobra Kai. I still believe that Terry might be able to get a great lawyer and get out of all of this.
In an interview with Gizmodo, the show's co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, teased that Terry might return for this very reason, noting that while he's not on the metaphorical chess board right now, there's a possibility he might be back, mentioning that Silver has the funds for a competent attorney.
Is Kumiko Going To Show Up Again?
Chozen (played by Yuji Okumoto) has made a couple of appearances throughout the program, but then became a major character in Season 5 when he partnered with Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) to defeat Silver. As he begins to grow closer with Daniel, Johnny, and everyone else, he confesses that the one person he always wanted was Kumiko.
Kumiko was Daniels' love interest in the second Karate Kid film and appeared in Season 3 of the show. Chozen sent a message late at night to Kumiko saying how hed like to see her again. This sort of opens the door to Kumiko returning, and honestly, Chozen deserves all the happiness in the world.
Carmen and Johnny and their growing family what do they see next?
And the baby earns three - no, four - wait, five? There are a lot of people in this family.
Carmen and Johnny were surprised when she was told that she was expecting, despite them using protective gear, but she and Johnny are actually excited. When he tells both Miguel (Carmens son) and Robbie (Johnnys son), both are equally excited.
I cant help but wonder what the future holds for this growing family. Carmen with all the issues she's had with Miguel and Johnny with Cobra Kai, and that cant be good for a newborn. There's also the fact that Robbie and Miguels friendship is still a work in progress.
Are Sam And Miguel Going To Stay Together?
Miguel and Sam (who had sort of been going through her own identity crisis after the tournament) rekindled their friendship after the big match at Cobra Kai, admitting that they loved each other.
Personally, I think they are a fun couple, but this isnt the first time that they have broken up and reconciled. I've a feeling that if Season 6 comes, we'll begin experiencing some interesting interactions between these two.
Whats Going To Happen To Kenny Now?
Kenny, played by Dallas Dupree Young, was actually promoted to a regular role in the Cobra Kai Season 5 cast, and was a mentee of Robbie for a time before he turned against him. Once he discovered Silvers' lies about the tournament, he left the dojo with the others.
I cant help but feel bad for the kid, considering he was misled. I wonder what happens next for him after all, because even if he did go back to his bullies at first, he has gone too far and become a bully himself, and now, knowing what he knows, you cant help but wish hell would pass.
Are We Ever Going To See Miguels Dad Again?
Miguels father will be the last thing we'll see in Cobra Kai, and I don't believe this is the last.
Miguel goes to Mexico to find his biological father in Season 4, but he never gets the chance to confess him that he is his son, because Miguel discovers how awful he is. And as soon as Miguel leaves, he finds Johnny waiting for him outside.
Miguels father is unsure if he will ever appear again. I'd imagine that they'd introduce this character only for him to make one appearance and never return.
Season 5 of Cobra Kai may be over, and now we have to wait for the next announcement to see if there will be a Season 6, and hopefully some of these questions are answered. I suppose I'll have to be patient - or practice some bad karate moves.
