Recap of Demon Slayer 2 Season Episode 18

Gyutaro and Ume's human lives were explored in Demon Slayer Season 2 episode 18, revealing the reason for their resentment and hatred, even as demons. They were born to the lowest of classes in the Entertainment District.

Gyutaro had to rely on hunting and eating rodents and insects since his mother saw him as a burden and attempted to kill him many times. Her exquisite beauty boosted him after Ume's birth. He became a particular debt collector while Ume began working at a brothel.

Ume was buried alive after stabming a samurai's eye with a hairpin. Gyutaro was also fatally wounded when he discovered her half-alive form and confronted the samurai.

The Upper-Ranknk Six demon discovered the siblings and made them demons. Douma, the demon, pondered whether the two siblings might evolve into demons and become an Upper-Rank Demon like him.

His only regret was that he would not be able to give his sister a better life. He saw his sister, dressed not as Daki but as Ume again. He tried to sue her, believing it was his fault that she died such a terrible death. She refused to let him go, citing his promise never to abandon her.

Serpent Hashira Iguro Obanai was greeted warmly by Uzui, enquiring when he would return to work after losing his eye and arm. Uzui announced his retirement, which Iguro expressed his displeasure.

Akaza discovers that an Upper-Rank Demon had been killed when he was summoned to Infinity Castle. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke huddled together with Nezuko, sobbing with relief as they were all alive.

The Swordsmith Village arc follows the Entertainment District arc, which ends with Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui defeating the demon siblings Gyutaro and Daki. The only permanent victim in this epic battle was Tanjiro's demon-slaying sword.

Tanjiro and his entourage will be taken to the Swordsmith Village in order to have his blade repaired by Hotaru Haganezuka. Of course, Tanjiro and his entourage will be beset by a horde of demons during their stay. Fortunately, Mist Hashira and Muichiro Tokito have stepped in to assist.
