It's the beginning of a love story that shook Regency England to the core.
"Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" portrays the little-known story of the titular ruling royal marrying King George III (Corey Mylchreest) and causing a stir in the community. Together with golda Rosheuvel, who plays the adult character in "Bridgerton," the film depicts the pre-royal character.
Lady Danbury, a well-known character, is played by Arsema Thomas, making her TV debut, as Adjoa Andoh, who will reprise her role as Lady Violet Bridgerton.
Michelle Fairley, Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri, and Hugh Sachs are among the ensemble cast.
The official synopsis for the six-episode series summarizes: This Bridgerton-verse prequel chronicles the way Queen Charlotte grew to fame and power, and how King George's marriage sparked both a great love story and a social shift, forming the world inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
Tom Verica is the executive producer of "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story." Betsy Beers is the executive producer.
With the prequel series based on a novel she co-wrote, Shonda Rhimes serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
"Queen Charlotte has been a wonderful character to write, and now having the opportunity to collaborate with Julia to translate this story into a book is such a wonderful opportunity," Rhimes said in a press release. "I can't wait for fans of this universe to hear the story of a character that has resonated with our audience."
A spectacular pop-up experience called "The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience" will be unveiled in New York City. It's co-produced by Netflix, Shondaland, and Fever. The waitlist is now open for guests to register.
The #Polin romance is just one part of the tense Season 3 drama, which includes Penelope (Coughlan) looking for suitors and at first forgetting about her lost love Colin, who later sets out to assist her find a husband. All while falling for her the whole time.
