The release date for Warzone 2 has been set for November 16, 2022. As part of Call of Duty Next, Infinity Ward disclosed the Warzone 2.0 release date, with the studios' new and expensive battle royale genre expected to debut about two and a half years after the first Warzone was launched on March 10, 2020.
Platforms for Call of Duty Warzone 2.0
Despite hardcore fans' fears, the next generation of Warzone will not abandon previous systems. Infinity Ward correctly noted that ditching the PS4 and Xbox One would eliminate the largest segment of gamers.
Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In addition, we are looking for at least full native versions of the game on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for improved performance and quality.
Will Warzone 2.0 be available for free?
The new Warzone version will retain the free-to-play strategy that made the previous game popular.
That means youll be able to play Warzone 2.0 for free, and you wont have to pay for online subscriptions to unlock its features on PlayStation or Xbox.
Henderson has also stated that a second Warzone 2 map is in the works. The above will serve as the primary BR map, similar to the original game.
A second edition, which is expected later, will serve as a bite-sized BR alternative to Rebirth Island. According to Henderson, this smaller map is currently in early development, so we may not see it until late 2023.

The map of the second war zone
The Warzone 2.0 map is something entirely different. Forgive Verdansk, Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortunes Keep, go to Al Mazrah, a staggeringly massive new playspace that was designed specifically to exploit Warzone 2's new mechanics and systems.
Al Mazrah is a vast desert map that includes a variety of geographies, including industrial areas, various-sized towns, and a large city. The map has 18 points of interest, and a river system flows through it.
Al Mazrah in Warzone 2 is the largest battle royale map that Infinity Ward has ever constructed. It appears like it may include some improved reimaginings of famous locations from Verdansk and Verdansk 84, such as Quarry, Airport, and the Observatory.
What happened to the original Warzone?
While Warzone 2.0 will be rebuilt with completely new features, content, and advancement, the original Warzone title will remain in some way as a distinct experience.
No current equipment or cosmetics, such as Operators, Blueprints, or weapon skins, will be transferred to Warzone 2.
The original game's current achievements and unlocks from the previous two years will remain. It's unknown how much support it'll get once Warzone 2 takes center stage.
Will Caldera and Rebirth be the only maps that can be played? Will further content and balance improvements be released in 2023 and beyond? These are all questions that Activision will likely address in the coming weeks.
