Every single card in the FIFA 23 team of the year is a certified banger in the FUT calendar this season. Only one minor concern: availability. TOTY players are almost impossible to acquire due to microscopic pack odds, which increases their market price and makes them even more difficult to obtain.
FIFA 23 Ultimate Team needed something to calm the building anxieties. EA read the room in a timely manner and given us another round of popular Swaps. The new campaign will be implemented via Future Stars items. This guide will answer all of your questions about the FIFA 23 Future Stars Swaps event, including the most essential one of them all: how to obtain FIFA 23 Future Stars Swap Tokens.
What are FIFA 23 Future Stars Swap Tokens, and how do they work in FUT?
EA introduced Swap Tokens for the first time in FIFA 22. Tokens may be obtained by performing relatively simple tasks across FUT, mostly low-tier SBCs and Objectives. There are rare instances when Tokens are rewarded for other activities, such as logging into your FUT account.
Future Stars Swap Tokens are then traded in for a substantial reward. Rewards may be packs, player picks, or specific predetermined players. The quality of the reward is dependent on the quantity of Tokens you trade for it. A quick early swoop might deprive you of an opportunity to win another prize later on.
The FIFA 23 Future Stars Swaps campaign will run from January 30 to February 17 and will feature Swap Tokens on a daily basis throughout the duration. There are currently 30 Future Stars Swap Tokens in the FIFA 23 game.
What are the FIFA 23 Future Stars Swaps rewards?
- Three Future Stars Swap Tokens – Future Stars Team 1 pack, i.e. one random player from Future Stars Team 1
- Five Future Stars Swap Tokens – Base Icon Gianfranco Zola (85 OVR)
- 10 Future Stars Swap Tokens – 84+ x20 pack
- 10 Future Stars Swap Tokens – Player Moments Philippe Coutinho (88 OVR)
- 15 Future Stars Swap Tokens – 87+ Player Pick (one out of five). Choice will be between Winter Wildcards, FUT Centurions, or Future Stars Team 1 players.
- 15 Future Stars Swap Tokens – 85+ x10 pack
- 20 Future Stars Swap Tokens – Mid Icon George Best (90 OVR)
- 25 Future Stars Swap Tokens – two 85+ x10 packs
- 27 Future Stars Swap Tokens – Prime Icon Player Pick (one out of three)
How to Get FIFA 23 Future Stars Swap Tokens in FUT
Each of the 30 tokens will have its own unique requirement. Those are usually fairly straightforward to accomplish, but they involve more in finding them and completing them on time. That's why we're here to ensure you don't miss any of the little rascals while you're trading. Right up till the final day on February 17, you'll have 30 tokens to trade.
This is the easiest of the four requirements. All you have to do is log into your FUT account before February 17 and this token will be yours. Though it won't be beneficial if you wait until the final day.
This is the first of what will most likely be a slew of TOTY Challenges. TOTY Challenge 1 is a simple, yet straightforward, format.
- Players from min. three different nationalities
- Players from min. two different clubs
- Max. five players from the same league
- Min. one Rare item
- Min. 75 OVR squad rating
- Min. 22 chemistry
- Price: approx. 5,000 coins
As you can see, despite TOTY Challenge 1 having a slew of demands, it ends up costing much less than regular player SBCs. That's fair because you'll not earn a player for completing it. This SBC should be your second.
Token No. 3 is a bit tricky because it involves buying packs. It's also not a symbolically priced pack. The Danny Rose Token is included in the New Year Cheer pack, which costs 80,000 FUT coins or 500 FIFA points.
A single Swap Token costs a lot of money. Fortunately, the New Year Cheer FIFA 23 pack includes more items, including one that will have an 85+ OVR player rating. The Future Stars Swap Token is a free bonus.
The fact that this Token is unobtainable without purchasing a pack you might not have otherwise purchased. The silver lining is that this is intended to be a bonus token, not a standard 30, so you should be able to skip it and still acquire up to a total of 30 Tokens by February 17. The small danger is there, however, because the New Year Cheer offer expires on February 10.
There will be a lot of TOTY Challenges along the way, and EA was quick to establish our understanding. The following requirements apply to TOTY Challenge 2.
- Max. four players from the same league
- Min. three players from the same nation
- Max. three players from the same team
- Min. five Rare items
- Min. 65 OVR squad rating
- Min. 25 chemistry
- Price: approx. 3,500 coins
This squad's lower squad rating makes it significantly cheaper than the one necessary for TOTY Challenge 1, although at these low levels, even huge percentage differences mean a couple thousand coins at most. The TOTY Challenge 2 SBC expires on February 7.
In a big First Owner Fiesta, Swap Tokens No. 5 and No. 6 are tied together. Gaffney is the one token you don't need to sweat over. All you need to do is win one match in the FUT Friendly: Homegrown Eleven game mode.
This is a quick reminder that you may only use so-called First Owner cards in this mode, that is, cards that were not bought on the FUT transfer market. This Objective also expires on February 7.
The real grind begins here. The Sho-Silva Token is also a part of the First Owner Fiesta objectives, although it would take a little more effort to walk out with this prize. This is by far the most challenging task in the Future Stars Swaps circuit so far. It expires on the same date as the Gaffney one, on February 7.
The latest Fiesta couple is another example of how to get one easier to obtain than the other. However, the difference isn't as dramatic as with the previous owners.
In the Live FUT Friendly: Silver Lounge game mode, you'll need to win three times. The Jin Seong Wook Swaps Token will take three wins.
The Majrashi Swaps Token requires no additional victories in the Silver Lounge. Three victories are still enough, but you must score eight goals and provide six assists to complete all of the Objectives for this Token. The good news is that you can still beat the Objectives without winning another match.
Jin Seong Wook and Mohammed Majrashi's Swap Tokens have a deadline of February 8.
The second pack you will have to buy for Tyrese Sinclair's Token is the Future Stars Cornerstone pack, which will cost you some 75,000 coins. The pack itself consists of 11 Rare Gold items, one of which is guaranteed to be 85+ OVR.
The purchase of the Future Stars Cornerstone pack as a Swap Token is a significant investment, but who knows, you might get lucky with that guaranteed 85+. This offer ends on February 10.
The 10th Token is awarded for successfully completing one of the many Challenge SBCs. While the previous ones were TOTY Challenges, Al Sahli's SBC is the first Future Stars Challenge. Here's what you must submit for Future Stars Challenge 1:
- Players from max. four different nations
- Min. five players from the same league
- Max. four players from the same team
- Min. five Rare items
- Min. 65 OVR squad rating
- Min. 16 chemistry
- Price: approx. 3,000 coins
Challenge 1 of Future Stars must be completed by February 10.
The Dan Agyei Future Stars Token is an early reward for the Jesper Lindstrm FUT Future Stars Academy Objectives. You'll need to complete a series of tasks to obtain the Dane's 88 OVR item, but the Agyei Token doesn't require as much effort.
All you need to do is score four goals with Danish players on Semi-Pro difficulty or higher in Squad Battles or Division Rivals. Because the Token is tied to an unrelated Objective, it can technically be obtained as late as March. The Token will, however, be useless by then, so rushing through this challenge sooner rather than later would be a smart move.
Future Stars Challenge 2 and Future Stars Challenge 3 are rewards for completing both. The prerequisites for the former and for acquiring the Josh March Token are as follows:
- Players from max. two different leagues
- Min. three players from the same team
- Min. 9 Rare items
- Min. 80 OVR squad rating
- Min. 31 chemistry
- Price: approx. 7,500 coins
This SBC has an unusually high squad rating demand, but you would still lose a lot of coins if you don't have to fill in the league and team requirements. Future Stars Challenge 2 is available on February 11.
Harper's Token is locked behind Future Stars Challenge 3, which requires a team with these qualifications.
- Players from min. four different clubs
- Max. five players from the same nation
- Min. one Rare item
- Min. 75 OVR squad rating
- Min. 23 chemistry
- Price: approx. 4,000 coins
Future Stars Challenge 3 will be terminated on February 12.
Future Stars Challenge 4 was released immediately after the third one. This new SBC has some strange requirements, but no min. squad rating, so the price remains within expectations. Here's the squad you'll need to complete this challenge:
- Players from min. three different leagues
- Max. five players from the same club
- No Bronze items
- Min. four Gold items
- Min. 24 Chemistry
- Price: approx. 6,000 coins
The Future Stars Challenge 4 SBC expires on February 13th.
EA has developed a habit of tying two Future Stars Swap Tokens to the same Objectives, with one being significantly easier to acquire than the other. In the Live FUT Friendly: Homegrown Eleven game mode, you need to win only one match.
The Alexander Ammitzbll Token is a hardcore item. In practice, this means winning seven Live FUT Friendly: Homegrown Eleven matches.
It's entirely up to you whether or not the effort is worthwhile, but you'll have to make a decision before Valentine's Day, since these Objectives expire on February 14.
Furrer is the first of two Future Stars Swap Tokens awarded for fulfilling Ricardo Rodrguez' Silver Stars objectives. Furrer is the easiest of the two Tokens to obtain. You must win three matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Silver Lounge game mode.
Youssuff Sylla is the other token to collect from this challenge. One of the Sylla requirements will automatically be fulfilled if you complete the requirement for Furrer. However, you must also score eight goals and assist three goals to receive Sylla.
The deadline to complete these Silver Stars Objectives is February 15.
The Bundgaard Token is hidden within one of the currently active Marquee Matchups SBCs. RB Leipzig vs. Union Berlin is the SBC you're looking for. These are the parameters:
- Min. one player from Germany
- Players from maximum five different clubs
- Min. two players from the same league
- Min. 71 OVR squad rating
- Min. 14 Chemistry
- Price: approx. 4,200 coins
The Marquee Matchups SBCs, including RB Leipzig against Union Berlin, expire on February 16.
The Lars Kehl Swaps Token will be rewarded in Future Stars Challenge 5. Follow these guidelines when submitting your team:
- Players from min. three different leagues
- Min. two players from the same league
- Min. five players from the same nation
- Min. two Rare items
- Min. 78 OVR squad rating
- Min. 31 Chemistry
- Price: approx. 8,500 coins
This SBC is quite a step up from what we're used to so far, but it's still within reasonable limits if you consider it to be worthwhile. Complete the transaction as soon as February 17.
The Future Stars Foundations Pack will cost you 75,000 coins, for which you will receive 10 Rare Gold items, one of which is guaranteed to be 86+ OVR, and the Touré Swaps Token.
If you wish to purchase this pack, you may purchase it until February 17.
The Chen Pu Swaps Token is technically rewarded for completing an Objective, but not really. That's because the objective you have to complete is literally an SBC. It's the first step in the Nuno Tavares Future Stars Academy Objective series, which says you have to complete the Future Stars Academy Upgrade once.
This SBC only requires a single requirement, which is at least a squad rating of 82 OVR. It costs around 13,500 coins to build a squad like that, but it isn't just for this SBC. There's a regular reward too, which is a Player Pick from three 82+ OVR items.
The two combined prizes make this a much more attractive proposition. It's also one you'll have plenty of time to complete since it doesn't expire until March 11.
The 23rd Future Stars Swaps Token is much clearer about it being an SBC. It's another Future Stars Challenge, number 6, and these are the guidelines:
- Players from min. four different nations
- Players from max. five different clubs
- Max. four players from the same league
- Min. one Rare item
- Min. 75 OVR squad rating
- Min. 22 Chemistry
The Future Stars Challenge 6 SBC is due on February 18.
Back-to-Back Challenge SBCs mean we can get straight to the point. If you submit the following squad for Future Stars Challenge 7, the Robert Street Swaps Token will be yours.
- Players from min. four different clubs
- Min. one Rare item
- No Bronze items
- Min. 13 Chemistry
- Price: approx. 6,000 coins
The Future Stars Challenge 7 SBC expires on February 19.
The Josh Umerah Swaps Token adds some variety to the sea of Future Stars Challenge SBCs that's been flooded the Swaps Token scene lately, but this time it's not a trick. You'll need to complete objectives to succeed in Future Stars Academy.
The aim of the Nicoló Rovella Future Stars Academy is to score four goals using Italian players on at least semi-pro difficulty or alternately do the same in Division Rivals. completing this will earn you an 82 OVR version of the Italian midfielder.
These Objectives may be completed by March 13 and we'll keep you posted on this topic with a reminder that you can't spend Future Stars Swap Tokens until late in the FUT season, so you'd be doing yourself a favor if you didn't wait till the last second.
You didn't expect us to miss a Future Stars Challenge for two days in a row, right? The eighth such SBC has been released, and it will grant you the Romero Swaps Token, as long as you submit the following squad:
- Players from max. five different nations
- Max. four players from the same team
- Min. five Rare items
- Min. 65 OVR squad rating
- Min. 25 Chemistry
- Price: approx. 4,000 coins
The Future Stars Challenge 8 SBC expires on February 20.
The Duin Swaps Token is moving away from Squad Building Challenges and back to Objectives. The First Owner Fiesta format is used, and you need to win a single match in the Live FUT Friendly: Homegrown Eleven mode to earn the Duin Token.
The ability to keep up with our FIFA 23 Future Stars Swaps tracker will speed the process of getting the tokens, but keep in mind that you must spend them before February 17, otherwise you'll end up with a wonderful collection of useless FUT items.
