James Gunn is left aghast by the efforts of trolls to advance their agenda against him ...

Everybody loves a far-fetched conspiracy theory every once in a while, but few fandoms want to keep them more prevalent than the extremely vocal minority of pro-SnyderVerse and anti-James Gunn DCU fanatics.

If they aren't launching borderline delusional campaigns to convince Netflix that purchasing the rights to make Justice League sequels, Man of Steel 2, and Ben Affleck's The Batman, then they're launching all kinds of wild and unjustified accusations against the new co-CEO, many of which are simply unreported here.

Despite the Guardians of the Galaxy director's frequent online presence, he perceives a lot more vitriol than you would expect from a Hollywood name, and he's willing to apologize when the occasion arises. This time, it was pointed out to the filmmaker that there's a small group of hardy trolls who believe he's running an alt account for fraudulent self-promotion.

Furthermore, a mysterious deleted tweet from an account that has since been removed from Twitter completely prompted an outrage from the people who run The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, who it appears to be at a shambles.

The easiest way for Gunn to reduce his social media presence or simply avoid engaging directly with those who want him down at every turn, is to reduce his presence on social media; but having already admitted that he gets real pleasure from shutting down, debunking, or outright mocking rumors and speculation, we get the sneaking suspicion that he might be holstering his itchy Twitter finger for good.
