We as consumers have come to expect certain things from the media we consume; we expect romantic comedy to keep the record safe for better or worse; we expect A24 and the Cronenberg family to do the exact opposite; and we expect all future Scooby-Doo content to hopefully recover the damage that Velma has done, however difficult the task may be.
One thing we don't expect from action thrillers is spending too much time in the theater. A film can only be stuffed with so many explosions, martial arts, and one-liners, and that's basically what audiences expect from it; pure, blood-soaked fun.
Per Collider, the fourth installment in the Keanu Reeves-led franchise, lasts for two hours and 49 minutes (169 minutes), making it the longest film in the series to date. The first, second, and third films, though, each last for 101 minutes, 122 minutes, and 131 minutes.
With every passing film, Reeves and co. seem to be slowly enhancing our attention spans, and with almost three hours to play around in, we anticipate Chapter 4 to set a new franchise record.
The film will chronicle the devastation of the eponymous assassin as he attempts to topple the High Table crime council, all while facing off against a world that wants him dead, where trust is scarce and enemies are plentiful.
On March 24, John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released in cinemas.
