In the lead-up to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, a truly legendary teaser for the first Ant-Man film is once again going viral.
The trailer for Quantumania, which will be released in just a few days, has been reduced to an adequate — if somewhat predictable — art. However, the media giant's promotional approach to the film may be somewhat different from the ones that have followed.
Scott Lang, played by Michael Douglas, is joined by tense audio as the pair stare intensely at one another and then at the camera in this bizarre commercial.
Douglas utters the first rabid "ants" with a singular ferocity, and the camera briefly cuts to a shot of an ant. At 13 seconds, Rudd lets out a brief, desperate "Ant-Man" to finish off the charming, but nonetheless bizarre teaser.
Charlie Schneider, who retweeted the video on its fourth anniversary, dubbed it the "greatest trailer in the history of Marvel," the film has exploded onto the internet, attracting many confused, but appreciative viewers, many of whom are still reeled from the first act four years later.
Many of the comments strewn among expressions of displeasure are retweets to the video itself, as people simply scatter the words "ants" below the viral video. After all, why should we ask more of the viewing public to watch a blockbuster film?
When fans go to the cinemas for Quantumania, which officially launches on Friday, February 17, they'll be struck with absolute gold.
