Andor, a Disney+ sequel, will premiere later this week with its first three episodes.
Both actors recorded their conversations in Spanish, with Luna coming from Mexico and Arjona coming from Puerto Rico. Luna made the announcement last week at Disney's D23 convention, where the star expressed his gratitude to the Latin American fanbase.
Luna will reprise his role as Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera from the 2016 prequel film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Andor is a prequel to the film, highlighting the character's desire and devotion to the Rebellion. Kyle Soller, Fiona Shaw, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach play supporting roles in the series. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, is the showrunner.
Early reactions to Andor have praised the prequel series, describing it as "complex and mature." One of the most controversial Star Wars projects of recent years has been their inability to see parts of the galaxy far away without Jedis, lightsabers, and the Dark Side. Fans who have held these negative feelings should be extremely appreciative of Andor's grounded and gritty nature.
Andor is the fourth live action Star Wars series to premiere on Disney+. The Mandalorian was the first to launch the Mouse House's streaming service the day it was launched. Others include Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson, The Acolyte, which stars Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lee Jung-Jae, and Charlie Barnett.
Andor will launch on Disney+ this Wednesday (September 21) with its first three episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly until mid-November.
