Rust will resume production this spring, along with former crew, cast, and creatives, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The continued inclusion of Baldwin is an eyebrow-raising development, to say the least.
As a result of the film's success, Rust will not be the only ones on set either. Cinematographer Bianca Cline, well-known for Marcel the Shell With Shoes On and American Horror Story, will take over as the late Halyna Hutchins. A documentary about Hutchins' life and her work on Rust is also in the works.
This documentary was conceived by director Rachel Mason and producer Julee Metz, who were Hutchins' close friends, and will feature the finishing touches of Rust.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the former crew member who did not return to shooting, is believed to have committed irresponsible behavior that extends beyond Gutierrez-Reed, according to the same Hollywood Reporter report. Former crew members also file a lawsuit over safety concerns while shooting.
Joel Souza, the director of Rust, expresses his creative visions while paying respect to his friend and collaborator. Eloquent, profound, and sincere — our only hope is that Souza can develop a film that is both enjoyable and enjoyable, but also one that provides us a forum to heal.
Only time will tell whether Rust or the documentary about will be able to live up to the expectations of Halyna Hutchins' creative power. As long as the filmmakers, cast, and crew treat the production with respect at every turn; at least there will be a chance, and that is all anyone can ask for.
