Hollow Knight: Silksong is still under wraps, but when it does get released it'll be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, according to Sony on Friday. The game was previously only available for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
The original Hollow Knight was available on PlayStation 4, but June's announcement that Silksong would be available through Microsoft Game Pass prompted others to wonder if this agreement would prevent the game from being released on PlayStation. Sony's confirmation says this isnt the case.
After Hornet is captured and taken to a mysterious new kingdom, Hollow Knight: Silksong will follow her, finding valuable tools and weapons along the way to open new avenues in the game's traditional Metroidvania action.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is the sequel to Hollow Knight, a popular indie film that was released in 2017. It was eventually transformed from a cult success to a mainstream hit, which prompted developer Team Cherry to consider remaking its DLC. But Silksong, which was first announced in 2019, is still lacking a release date, though Team Cherry hopes to have it out before June 2023.
