The Starfield showcase event was expected to be held in the near future, but now it appears we might have to wait as Fallout and Skyrim developer Bethesda is apparently still working on the game. More information on the game's long-awaited Starfield release date may be a ways off.
Bethesda held a joint event with Microsoft on January 25 where it unveiled the Redfall release date. A separate event is scheduled for Starfield exclusively, with Bethesda saying that the open-world game's release date will be released "very soon."
Starfield is expected to launch in the first half of 2023, so it follows that the event would be on its way shortly. However, according to Bethesda's latest comments, this may not be the case. The developer is apparently still in the process of "sorting stuff" before revealing anything new about Starfield.
"We'll have more info to share on the showcase when it's ready to go, while still sorting things out," says the developer's community manager, 'VaultOfDaedalus.' I know that's not the answer you want, but nothing specific is being withheld."
The Starfield showcase may be still in its planning stages. It's possible that Bethesda is still unable to confirm a date for the event, thus, has nothing to hide from the Starfield community.
