Steam Charts, a real-time player base tracking feature, has been introduced by Valve

Steam Charts, a real-time player base tracking feature, has been introduced by Valve ...

External steam player count calculators are a thing of the past, as Valve now has their own player counter in Steam. With Valve as the man behind the curtain, players may access nearly unlimited games.

This new-look Steam chart calculator, released on September 22, will show real-time player counts, top-selling games, and games with the highest player base of the week.

SteamDB was the preferred method of collecting statistics on player counts and top-selling games prior to SteamDB, but Valve has finally taken control of the data and integrated it into Steam.

The Steam stats page will now be replaced with real-time and weekly charts, making it simpler for fans to see which games are performing at their best.

The new features on the improved stats page will demonstrate:

  • Number of Weeks on the Chart
  • Weekly Change in Rank
  • Region Switcher
  • Total revenue

Depending on which region users are in, a region switcher will determine which game is the best in terms of revenue and player base. It will be a country-specific top sellers list. All editions of titles will be included in the list, even if a title is a premium edition.

This will encompass all income from DLCs and in-game transactions.

Valve released a press release on September 23 detailing all the changes.

If a game is no longer available, it will be listed on SteamCharts' historical lists for enthusiasts to look over old games for nostalgia reasons.
