By streaming on his second profile, Asmongold is apparently costing Twitch six figures a month ...

Asmongold, a popular Twitch streamer, realized that streaming on his second streaming channel, Zackrawrr, was costing Twitch over $150,000 per month in expected advertising revenue.

Asmongold is one of Twitch's most popular streamers, having amassed 3.3 million followers on the streaming platform. With a legion of supporters dedicated to his MMO journeys, Asmongold has become a household name.

Yet, in the past few months, the MMO streamer has been streaming on his second zackrawrr more often, recently, which has remained completely unmonetized. Asmongold conducted a research on Twitch to determine how much money it was losing streaming on zackrawrr.

The staggering sum came as a complete surprise immediately.

Each month I stream on zackrawrr and am literally deleting 158 thousand dollars from Twitch, the message on notepad read on his stream as he stood there stunned by the figure. Im getting paid, man.

It costs roughly $1,000 per month to host live videos for streamers who broadcast 200 hours a month to 100 concurrent viewers on the Twitch platform. When you factor in Asmongolds's popularity, as well as his 12,700 concurrent viewers, this figure becomes increasingly difficult to comprehend.

Yeah, that is uhman, Asmongold muttered still stunned by how much money he was costing Twitch. Im paying them in exposure, yes of course.

Many streamers and content creators have demanded that Twitch expand its 70/30 sub-revenue reduction for streamers.

Instead, Twitch President Dan Clancy stated that the platform has no intentions to make that change due to Twitch's high overhead costs. Instead, he stated that the platform intends to modify that percentage to 50/50 for content creators who earn more than $100k per subscription. This change will take effect on June 1, 2023.

A streamer like Asmongold, who is one of the platforms' top content creators, would certainly benefit from this new model.

Asmongold's followers were quick to point out that the 158-million-dollar figure he came up with might be considered lower due to his frequent streaming of more than 200 hours a month. According to Twitchtracker, Asmongold has streamed 252 hours to an average of 13,317 viewers in the past 30 days, which would actually amount to $166,462.

Regardless, it was enough to catch Asmongold by surprise. Whether or not that will motivate him to continue streaming on his main Twitch channel more is still to be seen.
