Tom Hopper from the Umbrella Academy joins the cast of American Horror Story in a new film ...

Tom Hopper, star of The Umbrella Academy, is one of the recently announced actors who will join Emma Roberts from American Horror Story in a new comedy Space Cadet.

The cast of the film includes Hopper, Gabrielle Union of 10 Things I Hate About You, Colombian pop sensation Sebastian Yatra, David Foley of A Bug's Life, and Desi Lydic of The Daily Show.

Roberts plays a Florida party girl who gets involved in a NASA training program, and although she may not have the expertise of the other candidates, her heart and intelligence in other ways may make her NASA's only hope.

Liz W Garcia will direct from a script she herself has written next week, and Amazon Prime Video will distribute the film internationally.

"Emma's incredible humor and funny timing perfectly embodies Rex's role, and Liz's portrayal of this character makes the female takeover of the STEM field so relatable and fun, and we hope it inspires young women to pursue careers in the field."

"The space race continues to intrigue all of us internationally, and we have no doubt viewers throughout the world will resonate with this captivating female narrative."

In Madame Web, Roberts has also been cast opposite Dakota Johnson, who plays Sally in Fifty Shades of Grey and Bad Times at the El Royale, part of Sony's shared universe of Spider-Man characters.

Johnson will play the titular character, a physicist who is tied to a life support system, although the role of every other actor is currently unknown.

Seasons 1 and 3 of The Umbrella Academy are now available on Netflix.
