After a 2-0 lead in the ESL Pro League season 16, Cloud9 has left Movistar Riders in a shambles ...

Cloud9 defeated Movistar Riders 2-0 today in the third round of ESL Pro League season 16s Group D to clinch a playoff spot.

Because they have yet to lose a map in EPL season 16, Movistar Riders are virtually without a shot to qualify for the playoffs since they have a 0-3 record and Team Liquid and FURIA have also failed to defeat their opponents in the tournament.

C9 were undoubtedly dominant from the start of the series against Movistar Riders. They won their T match against Inferno by 11-4, and closed the map 16-7 on the CT side as soon as they had access to a full purchase. Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov (24) and Abay HObbit Khasenov (22) led the scoreboard.

C9 had a dominant first half once more, and this time it was nearly perfect. Both sides defeated Movistar Riders 14-1 on the scoreboard, but C9 took control once they had rifles.

Eternal Fire vs. Evil Geniuses at 9am CT and FURIA vs. Liquid at 12:30pm CT will continue to play the third day of Group D in EPL season 16, while either FURIA or Liquid will lose for the first time.
