Mama mia The Super Mario movie has been postponed

Mama mia The Super Mario movie has been postponed ...

Illumination (Despicable Me, Minions) and Nintendo are collaborating on a Super Mario movie, according to a Nintendo Direct. This includes Chris Pratt as Mario himself, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.

Nintendo of America announced a delay in the release of the new Super Mario film on Twitter today, apparently from Miyamoto-san personally. The release date will be moved from December 2022 to Spring 2023, specifically April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. It is unlikely that a date will be announced for Europe or elsewhere in the world until this year.

Miyamoto expressed her condolences, saying, "My deepest apologies," but I promise it will be well worth the wait. Other than the casting and the studio working on it, we still haven't seen a trailer yet. For better or worse, I really need to hear Chris Pratts' Mario voice.

While we do not have a trailer yet, you may watch the Nintendo Direct from September 2021 to see the whole cast list and hear Miyamoto discuss the Super Mario movie in depth.

When is the Super Mario movie release date?

The Nintendo and Illuminations Super Mario film is scheduled to be released on April 7 in North America and April 28 in Japan. At the time of writing, no release dates for other regions are known.
