According to the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Superior Court Judge Scott Steiner decided not to issue an unofficial advisory to prosecutions that prosecutors may file an upgraded murder charge if a defendant sells fentanyl to a deceased victim.

According to the publication, Orange County sheriff's deputies discovered Waring with a woman in a car in the parking lot behind a business in San Juan Capistrano back on January 6, 2022. Deputies searched him because he was on parole and discovered some bags of fentanyl on him.

In January, he pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance and was sentenced to 90 days in prison.

Waring has previous Felony convictions and his mother adopted his daughter several years ago due to his struggles.

After a plea deal, Waring was found guilty of a shooting in Cosa Mesa. According to CBS, the former RHOC stars' son was initially charged with three counts of attempted murder, as well as a sentencing increase for the June 20, 2016, killing of Daniel Lopez, 35.

If found guilty, Waring might have faced up to 65 years to life in prison, but he accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to time served in jail awaiting trial, nearly four years. He pleaded guilty to several offenses in March 2020, including single counts of assault with a firearm and two counts of assault with force likely to result in great bodily injury, according to CBS.

Lauri Peterson, Warings' mother, has spoken out previously about her son's addiction to drugs, including heroin. In 2015, she told Bravo that shed adopted his daughter Kennady, who was born in 2012, due to Waring and his wife's difficulties.

I have a son, and he had a lot of difficulties, she confessed at the time. He and his wife had a baby almost three years ago. He is really struggling and, well, theyre both really struggling. And so [my husband] George and I decided to help out and we adopted Kennady, and we were raising her.
