A GTA 6 hacker is said to have been arrested in the United Kingdom ...

According to journalist Matthew Keys, a GTA 6 hacker was apprehended less than a week after a major security breach at the Rockstar Games, which is thought to have been caused by breaking into an employee's Slack workspace. Earlier today, the City of London police announced that a 17-year-old had been apprehended in Oxfordshire on suspicion of hacking.

A GTA 6 hacker is believed to be part of the Lapsus$ group.

UPDATE: Police in the United Kingdom arrested a 17-year-old person in connection with a probe conducted by the FBI.

Matthew Keys (@MatthewKeysLive) will be available on September 23, 2022.

Because the suspect is a minor, all details are still under wraps. However, Keys has said that a statement from the police as well as the FBI will be released sometime later today.

Uber disclosed that the FBI and the Justice Department are investigating the hackers who breached the transportation company's systems earlier this week, and that it believed it was the same group that committed the Rockstar Games security breach as well. However, the studio acknowledged the breach and assured players and stakeholders that its development work on GTA 6 hasn't been affected.

The hacker had both GTA 5 and GTA 6 source codes in their possession, the latter of which they attempted to sell before scrubbing their online presence, since their location was reportedly compromised via Telegram.
