Splatoon 3 Is A Streaming Hit In China... But It Hasn't Been Officially Launched There Yet ...

Splatoon 3 was expected to be a smash hit in Japan, but the third mollusc shooter has taken over the entire world since its release two weeks ago, including countries where it hasn't been released! One such instance is in China, where 46% of streamers across several Chinese streaming services have watched Splatoon 3 since it was released on September 9.

Niko Partners' China Games Streaming Tracker provides this data, which shows that not only are 46% of streamers displaying their ink-tastic gameplay, but also that 72% of tips on the three listed services (DouYu, Huya, and Bilibili) have also gone to Splatoon 3 streams.

Although Nintendo's intentions and octolings haven't officially made a splat in China, streamers haven't stopped fans from importing the game: Splatoon 3 is also the first game in the series to have a simplified Chinese translation, which is likely to increase the game's appeal in the country:

Nintendo was the market leader in China in 2021. The Switch was released in the country in 2019, which has sold 1 million units. We're sure Splatoon 3 will eventually launch in China officially, which will likely help the console strengthen Nintendo's position in the market even more.
