Following new Bungie patents, Destiny 2 on mobile looks to be even more likely ...

When a Bungie job listing suggested that such a project might be in the works, we first heard about a mobile Destiny game a year ago. Now more evidence has been found, and its looking quite probable that it might be able to hold Destiny in our hands in the future.

Bungie filed six patents earlier this year but only recently issued. Moreover, there appears to be an option to play mobile games from the comfort of your home.

Bungie is developing a completely new mobile game engine along with these mobile control and casting concepts. Destiny 2 already has a popular companion app, but this implied something quite different that would be required for Destiny itself to work on mobile devices.

Bungie's aim is to extend the world of Destiny beyond games, according to a separate employment offer.

Destiny 2's next expansion will be Lightfall, which will take players to Neptune and allow them to wield new Strand powers. Lightfall will be released on February 28, 2023.
