After shocking-good box office numbers, 'Barbarian' adds 550 theaters this weekend ...

Barbarian, the original horror film from 20th Century Studios, is expanding to more theaters following its third week of release. The film's $10 million opening weekend success in 2,340 theaters was aided by positive word of mouth, which has boosted its sales campaign in the United States, which has raised $23,083,169 worldwide.

Barbarian, which was written and directed by Whitest Kids U' Know alum Zach Cregger, will be expanding to 550 new screens this weekend, according to Bloody Disgusting. Since the film hit theaters on September 9, horror enthusiasts have flocked to theaters for its unique premise, starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgard, and Justin Long.

Barbarian starts off with Tess (Campbell) coming to her Airbnb after going to an interview in a Detroit area while it rains. The two quickly realize that the property must be double booked due to how late the night is. The unlikely couple decides to share the bed for the night due to how late the night is. Something wakes them in the middle of the night but she returns to the house to collect her things.

Barbarian's cast includes Richard Brake (31), Mark Braunohler (Resident Evil), and Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns). Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Alex Lebovici, and Skarsgard are the executive producers.
