The Addams Family spinoff on Netflix has announced a Wednesday release date

The Addams Family spinoff on Netflix has announced a Wednesday release date ...

Wednesday, the upcoming Addams Family spinoff on Netflix, will premiere on November 23, according to sources.

The news was first published on Netflix's official Twitter page, where they also displayed a new photo of Scream star Jenna Ortega in the titular role.

During her years as a student at Nevermore Academy, the eight-episode series will follow a teenage Wednesday as she works to improve her psychic abilities, stop a horrific killing spree, and unravel the same paranormal mystery that ensnared her parents 25 years ago.

Wednesday will be released on November 23! Snap, snap.

Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Morticia Addams and Luis Guzman plays Gomez Addams, while Isaac Ordonez completes the spooky family as Pugsley Addams.

Christina Ricci, who famously played Wednesday in The Addams Family in 1991 and 1993, has also starred in the Tim Burton series in an unidentified role.

Ricci praised her successor prior to the reboot, saying: "It was wonderful working with Tim, and Jenna is amazing. I think people will absolutely love her as Wednesday."

Ortega has become something of a scream queen in recent years, appearing in horror films such as The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Scream, and X, which are a departure from her Disney Channel days.

In the next Scream installment, she will reprise her role as Tara, which will again be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

Miller's Girl, an upcoming mystery film, will star Anna Maria Freeman, along with Marvel star Martin Freeman. The film will follow a teacher and his accomplished student as they embark on a creative writing assignment that produces complex results.

Wednesday will be available on Netflix on November 23.
