It all comes down to luck in locating a Gold Slime. This variety of slime is very rare, and they have a small probability of spawning every time you visit a location. In the first Slime Rancher, they had designated areas with an increased likelihood of spawning.
There is no magic or gimmick to spawning Gold Slimes. The only thing you can do is simply play Slime Rancher 2 naturally and hope for the best. A great way to detect a Gold Slime is by hearing a distinct sound, a sparkling sound effect.
Unless you have food on your hands to give to the Gold Slime, it will produce Gold Plorts, which are the most expensive and worthwhile Plorts for you to acquire in Slime Rancher 2.
